Hi.
We're moving to Hawaii and I'm wondering if anyone has taken their pugs on the plane. Most of the airlines will only let the dogs in cargo and I've heard that pugs absolutely cannot go in cargo due to their breathing issues. United may let them in the cabin but then the flight is almost twice as long because it has to stop in SFO. If you've got experience with this, would you please let me know what you did and how it went. Doesn't have to be to Hawaii, any place will do. Thanks! ginny (mom of Kona and Coco) |

I flew with both of my pugs in August of this year. I had to pay a seventy dollar fee with each, have vet papers etc... for them to fly in the cabin. The airline also has a size restriction on the carrier which they must stay in at all times. So check with your airline on that, the carriers I had to get were very small and my pugs couldn't even stand up. My flight was about six hours from Dallas to Portland and after an hour or so they both slept the rest of the way. The airline was American Airlines and everyone involved was very helpful with the pugs travel.
