My new pug , Mickey got very sick this past weekend. He was drooling heavily and had bad diarrhea. I rushed him to the emergency care. He stayed overnight and was given fluids and anti nausea meds since he started vomiting once he arrived there. They did xrays and sonograms and pretty much ruled out an obstrucion. I brought him home the next evening and he was fine. The next morning, yesterday, he started drooling again and had diarrhea. I took him to my vet and he again was given fluids and meds. The only thing he had between episodes besides chicken and rice was a couple bites of mushrooms in our yard. I know he also had a piece the day before the first incident. My vet is pretty sure it is because of these mushrooms that grow all over my yard, front and back. Even when I walk him, he can grab them before I even see them. Now I am walking him instead of letting him run around the yard. He is not happy. I have no idea how I can rid the yard of these things. Some are so small you can barely see them. I have looked online and see similar stories with similar symtoms. If he eats one next time I guess I can induce vomiting but what if I don't know about it? The emergency vet bill was so high, I don't want to have to go back there anytime soon!

I think my husband went to Home Depot this week and could not find anything. We also asked the lawn company. It is impossible to kill mushroom in the yard. We wil just have to walk him and be careful until they stop growing
