If you have an older pug and would like to share some stories about your pug, the benefits of having an older pug and why you love them, PLEASE DO!!!

Austin's branch of DFW Pug Rescue has several pugs over 6 years of age waiting for adoptive homes. Not enough folks are open to adopting an older pug. I think the main reason is because they don't know how WONDERFUL older pugs are!!!!

Here are a few of the older pugs we have dreaming and waiting for a home of their own!

SPIKE 7 years old

BENTLEY 7 years old

PUGGIE 10 years old

BANDIT 6 years old

JABBA 10 years old

PRINCE PUGSLEY 7 years old

VENUS 9 years old

Pepe 7 years old

Old pugs rock!! They make great heaters and foot rests biggrin They're always willing to cuddle. Ty and Alli, our 5 year old fosters, keep up just fine with our 3 younger pugs. They are much calmer, laid back, and definitely better with their housetraining--not one accident since we've been fostering them. They are by far the easiest to take care of out of our whole bunch. Older pugs are great if you want a pet with a personality but more on the low maintenance side. Ty and Alli aren't needy but will return your affections and give lots of kisses if you want them!

Ditto!! Older pugs do rock!! My oldest is 13 years old and let me tell you Rico is the reason I have my other two pugs. He is a faithful companion and he always is ready to give pug kisses!! He is not as active as he used to be but, he has his moment where he still has a little "pip in his step". I look at the "older" pugs you have posted and think "that's not old, they are in the prime of their lives!" The advantages: loyal, potty trained, easy going, sleep the same hours you do, faithful, unconditional love and of course always have a pug hug & lick waiting for you when you get home.
