We lost our cat a few weeks ago (not that the pugs minded) and in the process learned a great many things about finding your pet. ?We finally found him 10 days later - he was almost a mile away from where he was lost - and it would not have happened if we had not done these things:TOTALLY PAPER the neighborhood with flyers - leave them on windshields, post them in stores, tape them to every lamp post. ?We put up 600 flyers for our cat. ?You NEED to do this is if you ever want to see your pug again! ?Make up a sign and go to Kinkos and take the afternoon to post them.Call the Human Society, ASPCA, and every vet in your area. ?Tell them to put your missing pug in their database and give them your info.Beg, borrow or steal to RAISE that reward! ?Not many NYers will raise an eyebrow for $500! ?It needs to be AT LEAST $1,000.00 to get anyone motivated.Post on craigslist - EVERY DAY.Time is of the essence. ?You need to take action now. ?I wish you all the luck in the world! On Jul 18, 2008, at 7:35 AM, JUANELIAS wrote:I just realized I need to run an errand thru uptown?on my bicycle.???When done I will call you.I could spend extra time looking around and asking people.??Now here is some history & advice for all dog owners, and some of this applies even more to our pugs because of some of? those great characteristics.? There are disagreements about portions of what I am?about to share?, but I will source this at a later date.? some of you may know all this.?1-? Napoleon was introduced to pugs by his wife Josephine and eventually owned several and came to notust love them , but admire the aura of confidence and courage they carry themselves with.? He was quoted as saying, (forget the exact words) " If I had an army of dogs, all my generals would be pugs".?2-? This makes them attractive to some unscrupulous types.? Our pugs courage gives them a particular trait, they fight to the death.? They will not submit, especially the males when losing a fight.? Because of this many people who fight dogs use pugs to train their dogs.? they start them off on pugs to teach them how to kill.?? Obviously they get these dogs by stealing them, or from some one who stole them.Don't forget when the Michael Vick case came to light, many who fight dogs put down their own dogs who don't demonstrate enough fight talent.? They don't care about an unknown dog?3- Never, NEVER, tie up your dog, especially a small dog outside a store, carry him in!? Other's who steal dogs often are junkies.? These dogs obviously have a much better chance, but obviously it's a roll of the dice.? And some know dog fighters.?4- Get a chip and a tattoo.??5- Have current pix ready to download/email and print.??Splash fliers everywhere, it works!?6- And finally, please don't forget that there are people out there who want to do harm to are animals.??God bless and good luck!On Thu, Jul 17, 2008 at 9:01 AM, Q-Dog <[address removed]> wrote:
