Who

Anyone who'd like to teach an "Old Pug" new tricks!

Why

It's the NNJPE's inaugural Pug agility session; let's get all of our couch potato Pugs up and running! (It will give them good reason to sleep later on...)

Organized by

"I'll be the one "jumping through the hoops" (while my dogs sit and watch me, of course)!"
--Ellen (CC&B-Chief Cook and Bottle-washer)

Details

The long awaited group agility session is here!

The kind folks at the Morris K-9 Campus have put together a splendid combination of fun, frolic and basic training for our Pugs for this event. This group session is scheduled to run for 1 1/2 hours and will feature instruction on all types of agility maneuvers and obstacles, customized specifically for the Pug breed. No prior experience with Pug agility is necessary.

The scenario: There will be a rotation of 3 groups, allowing for 12 dogs each; one group will be broken down into 4 stations which will permit 3 dogs at a time to each experience a 5 minute training session on each piece of equipment. The second group will engage in on-leash group play utilizing both equipment and obstacles (i.e. the tunnel), and finally, the third group (in waiting), will have an off-leash owner-supervised play session. This is an indoor facility, so rain or shine, the *show* will go on!

***Important note: Please keep in mind that for the safety and consideration of everyone and everypug involved, there will be a 36 dog limitation on this session. When you are responding for this particular event, do be sure to RSVP solely for your PUGS and NOT HUMANS; your first RSVP will be counted as one dog, and your "guests" will be counted as any additional dogs you are bringing. (The "expected attendees" count above is to reflect PUGS ONLY; meetup doesn't allow me to alter the wording!) If the demand for another session is there, we have the capability for scheduling a second session later on in the day, so in the event this class becomes full and you would nevertheless like to attend, please let me know!

****Additional note: Each Pug in attendance must be accompanied by at least one human, thus your focus will remain constant on your individual dog. In the comments section, be sure to state the number of human attending in total. If you do not adhere to these guidelines, you will not be allowed to participate in the agility session!

The very reasonable $15.00 event fee will be paid directly to the K-9 Campus, prior to the start of the event; be sure to allow ample time to do so.

I hope you are all looking forward to this event as much as I am! Dig those Puggy Nikes out of the closet and I'll see you there!

Warm Regards,
Ellen (along with Jeanne, Jennifer and Josie)

We are really bummed out that we will be missing this fun Agility event, since I really wanted Chloe Rose to do this Agility event. Have fun everyone and see you ALL at the Cancer Walk in May.

"Nice experience! We enjoyed meeting all of th epugs and their friendly owners. The agility stations were interesting- although Bella didn't like the ramp. Overall- a great first meeting to go to. Maybe an obedience session would be nice- addressing basic commands, etc. could be done!"
