Details
Hello Everyone,
May is right around the corner, and it's time once again, for the American Cancer Society's Annual Dogswalk! (I'd wanted to post this as an official NNJPE event, with the hope of encouraging as many of you to join us as possible.) The Dogswalk of which we will be participating in is being held at Bear Mountain, New York, on Sunday, May 4th at 9:30 AM (Let's try to meetup before it starts; say 9-9:15 AM as we will need to sign in.) Our efforts at this event will be going towards a great cause, as all funds generated will go into cancer research for both humans and animals...your reason for "pounding the pavement" just doesn't get any better than that! Toss in the fact that we all had such a blast walking last year (AND they give you an awesome goody bag to take home, just for participating; what's not to like!?!)!
The walk is a non-competitive stroll around Bear Mountain Lake, and the duration is approximately 40-45 minutes (at a steady pace). *Please note: there MUST be at least one human per canine participant in attendance!* Of course, you can hang out after the walk as well, for there will be vendors booths, and a various doggy contests (details can be found on the official ACS Dogwalk website). Food will also available for purchase, and last but not least, there is plenty of parking on the premises ($5.00 charge). A couple more things worthy of note; the ACS will provide water to both humans and their canine participants and online registration for this event will end on May 2nd, at 3PM (On-site, same day registration is available at $35.00 per dog). Donations towards our team efforts are accepted until June 16, 2008.PLEASE UTILIZE OUR GROUP'S SIGN-UP LINK BELOW TO REGISTER!
We will have our official NNJPE sign posted on the grassy lawn in front of the main parking lot for ease of finding us (just look for all of the Pugs!) and I do recommend that anyone walking should dress in layers (everytime I participate in Dogswalk, I find the air to be quite *brisk*)! WEATHER UPDATES WILL BE PROVIDED NO LATER THAN 2 HOURS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED EVENT; PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL!
THIS JUST IN! I have a LIMITED number of *official* NNJPE embroidered doggy bandanas of which I will give out as a "thank you" for those members that not only RSVP here, but sign up on our team's Dogswalk site as well...(they will be issued on a first come, first serve basis and will be distributed to those members of whom didn't receive one at last year's event; when they're gone, they're gone)!
Finally; I sincerely hope that all of you will consider joining us so that we may experience an even greater turnout this year (after all, we do want to show everyone that PUGS do indeed RULE!), but if you find that you are unable to do so, we would nevertheless, love to have you sponsor one of us...if your company should have a matching gift program, that's all the better!
If anyone has any additional questions, please feel free to drop me a line or check out our group sign-up link:

"The weather was on our side today! Great turnout for a wonderful cause...and we currently hold as 2nd place team, collecting nearly $2500.00 for ACS; awesome! (We have more offline contributions of which still need to be accounted for as well.) Thanks to all for attending this event, and thanks for your support of the NNJPE!"
