Worldwide Pug Meetup Message Board › Looking for a specific type of Pug (longer nose, more athletic)

I recently lost my best little buddy, Baxter. I am now searching high and low for another Pug, but I want it to have the same body type and appearance Baxter had. If you look at the pictures, you can see that I am talking about a less flattened face with a longer nose. My pug had no breathing/cooling problems, didn't snore, didn't pant, and we were able to be quite active together, as you can see from his muscled forelegs and athletic build.
I am searching high and low locally and online to find a breeder who is going for a body type similar to this, but I thought maybe someone here would have or would have seen a pug who looks like mine. PLEASE look at the pics and help me out by referring me to a breeder or an adult pug up for adoption. Thank you! [IMG]http://i35.tinypic.co... [IMG]http://i33.tinypic.co... |

Check with a local pug rescue near you. There are numerous pugs in rescue that look like what you describe......and there are several people who are involved in rescue on this forum that might have some suggestions. You might also try Petfinder.com, as they sometimes have pugs available.
A lot of us here are show breeders, like myself, so we are not going to have what you are looking for, but along with us are quite a few rescue people, who might be able to help steer you to a rescue near you..........as a matter of fact, you can Google Pug Rescue Organizations in South Dakota, to get help, and I do know that there is a pug rescue in Omaha, that you can also Google. There are many pugs that fit your description in rescue, as I said earlier, and they are in great need of someone to give them a forever home. Let us know if you find a new buddy. Like Bethy said, a rescue would be the best place to look. Many rescues post their available dogs on Petfinder.

They may be able to help you find a pug! A friend of mine is a volunteer. What a great way to honor your Baxter by giving a second chance to a needy pug.![]() Baxter was adorable! I lost my Sledgehammer not too long ago, so I know what you are going through. I am sorry for your loss.Edited by Mary C on Nov 4, 2009 8:47 PM |

Would you consider a pug mix? I feel like you might have an easier time finding the athleticism you're looking for in a mix.
Here's just one example in my area, I'm sure there are many more! http://www.petfinder.... |
