You know... I'm really glad I'm here by myself... I just got through looking at the pugs on this site, and I'm sitting here wiping the tears from my eyes and face... Just seeing these poorly (some horribly) bred, yet precious little lives, that someone just THREW OUT THERE... only to end up in rescue, where they wait on someone to give them a chance at a new life, and to love them... All of those babies that came from puppymills, and they are afraid of people... OMG!!!! I can't even imagine a pug being timid, reserved, or AFRAID of people!!! crying

I would give anything if I were a wealthy person... I would take in every needy baby I could, and I would have a full staff that would do nothing but get paid to care for and love on these precious dogs that have been tossed out like yesterdays news...

Thanks for your replies everyone! I am checking with http://www.mnmidwestp...
to see whether they adopt out of state (I am in SD). A lot of rescues don't.

Yes, I am open to a Pug mix...am thinking Baxter had a little...something else (maybe Boston Terrier?) in his lineage somewhere.

I will keep checking Petfinder as well...but again, I've contacted many rescues and humane societys I've found on there and they don't do adoptions out of state or outside of a certain mile radius.

Thanks...

This is very true about rescues. They usually only adopt to homes that are close enough to do a home inspection on before the meet and greet. Some will do both at the same time, but the radius is still a concern. Look at the PDCA (Pug Dog Club of America)rescue page and contact Patti Nash (PDCA Rescue Chair). She is a super sweet person and will certainly find you a pug that is need of rescuing.
