Does anyone have any advice for a possible reaction to a bee sting earlier in the day? Ching got stung by a bee around noon today and we watched her closely all afternoon for any sort of allergic reaction but she seemed to be just fine. She has now vomited twice but other than that seems to be fine - no respiratory distress and still full of energy. Would it make any sense to give her Benadryl at this point or just something to settle her tummy? My vet is on call 24 hours so if it progresses into anything more serious I will definitely call him but it doesn't appear to be too serious.

Thank you for the responses pat and Brandi. I have given her a 25 mg Benadryl and will keep a close eye on her.

I think I can get Maluka honey here in Canada so I am going to get some to keep on hand.

If she isn't swelling, benadryl isn't really indicated, and it could make the nausea worse. Just keep an eye on her and if the vomiting gets worse, call the vet.

Karla - would it help to give her a Pepto or is that just loading her stomach with too much stuff?

It's fine it will stop any swelling that may or may not happen and that is what we worry about specially in a pug. When clients call in with a bee sting we usually recommend Benadryl
